Shopify Payments Promotion

The Shopify Payments Promotion (the “Promotion”) waives Shopify Payments processing fees for a limited time when you meet the criteria below (the “Shopify Payments Discount”).

To participate, you agree to these terms, which become part of the Shopify Merchant Terms of Service (the “Shopify TOS”). Capitalized terms not otherwise defined here follow their definitions in the Shopify TOS.

How to Earn the Shopify Payments Discount

  • You may earn the Shopify Payments Discount if: (a) you are located in an Eligible Country, (b) you meet all eligibility requirements for Shopify Payments, including those set out in the Shopify Payments Terms of Service (the “SP Terms”), and successfully register for a Shopify Payments account, (c) you have been invited to participate in the Promotion through the Shopify website or by communication to you from Shopify directly, (d) you complete the required action(s) as specified in the invitation, and (e) and the Store is compliance with the Shopify TOS (altogether, the “Earning Criteria”).
  • “Eligible Plan” means the Shopify paid trial (upgraded from a free trial), Shopify Basic, Retail, Shopify, or Advanced services plan, with an active POS Pro subscription. Shopify Plus plans are not eligible for the Promotion.
  • “Eligible Country” means the United States, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, or the United Kingdom.
  • Activities completed before you are invited to participate are not eligible to earn the Shopify Payments Discount. You must successfully complete the Earning Criteria while the Promotion is active.
  • The Shopify Payments Discount can be applied one time per Store that meets the Earning Criteria, up to a maximum of 5 Stores per Shopify User account (each an “Eligible Store”).
  • Shopify Partners (as defined under the Shopify Partner Program Agreement) are not eligible for the Promotion.

Shopify Payments Discount

  • Discount Term: Processing Fees (as that term is defined in the SP Terms) will be waived on up to USD $100,000 of in-person credit card transactions (not including manually entered in-person credit card transactions) processed on each Eligible Store using Shopify Payments as its primary payment provider (the “Transaction Limit”). After an Eligible Store has reached the USD $100,000 limit, or the Promotion has otherwise expired in accordance with these terms, the applicable Processing Fees on additional transactions will return to the standard rates described in the SP Terms.
  • Expiration: The Shopify Payments Discount expires after either (i) your first three (3) months of your Eligible Plan, or (ii) you reach the Transaction Limit, whichever occurs first. The Shopify Payments Discount also expires immediately if you pause or cancel your Shopify User account or an Eligible Store.
  • Other Fees: The Shopify Payments Discount only applies to Processing Fees on in-person card transactions processed using Shopify Payments. You remain responsible for all other Fees payable under the Shopify TOS and the SP Terms, including, without limitation, Processing Fees for online and manually entered in-person card transactions processed using Shopify Payments, foreign exchange fees and third-party transaction fees that are applicable when processing transactions using a third-party payment provider.
  • Additional Terms Apply: At all times when using Shopify Payments you are required to comply with the SP Terms, including any other terms referred to in the SP Terms. Shopify reserves the right to cancel or terminate the Shopify Payments Discount for non-compliance with any of such terms.
  • Eligibility: You will not be eligible for the Shopify Payments Discount if you: (i) are no longer located in an Eligible Country, (ii) become ineligible for Shopify Payments, (iii) are in violation of these terms, the Shopify TOS, or the SP Terms, (iv) are no longer subscribed to an Eligible Plan while the Promotion is active, or (v) you cease to have any retail locations with an active POS Pro subscription.

Miscellaneous

  • Eligibility; cancellations: Determinations of eligibility for this offer will be made in Shopify’s sole discretion. Shopify reserves the right to any remedy, including cancellation of your account or promotions, if fraud, tampering, technical errors, or violations of Shopify’s TOS are suspected.
  • Changes; termination: Shopify reserves the right to cancel or change the Promotion or these terms at any time in its sole discretion.
  • Notice: Any notice provided by us with respect to these terms will be deemed provided the day it is posted on our website.
  • Governing law: These terms and this Promotion shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable therein.
  • Severability: If any provision in these terms is deemed invalid, void, or unenforceable, such provision (or the portion of it that is making it invalid, void or unenforceable) will be struck and not affect the validity of and enforceability of the remaining provisions.
