Shopify Unite is almost here and that means we’re gearing up for some 🔥 socializing in our partner community.
Shopify’s third annual partner and developer conference is being held in Toronto, Canada this year, and we’re busy getting ready to welcome Shopify Partners from around the world to connect, network, and get inspired for the year ahead.
With all the announcements, launches, and ideas coming at you next week, there’s going to be a lot to talk about. With this in mind, we want to make sure that no matter where you’re watching Unite—whether at home, at a Livestream Viewing Event, or at the conference in Toronto—you’re set up to stream the keynotes and join the conversation.
So below, find your guide to following along with the energy and excitement at Unite. We’ll cover how to watch the livestream, where to follow us online, and how to connect with other partners watching the conference, so that you don’t miss a single announcement.

1. Tune into the livestream
Similar to years past, we’ll be streaming the keynotes from May 8, Day One of Unite, live.
This series of keynote talks from Shopify’s leadership—including CEO and founder Tobias Lütke—will launch the conference and share Shopify’s vision for the future of commerce.
With exciting updates, announcements, and releases, you won’t want to miss it! Be sure to bookmark the livestream page, add it to your calendar, and join early so you don’t miss a thing.
The Unite 2018 livestream will be available Tuesday, May 8 from 10:00am to 12:00pm EDT on the Unite website.
Livestream Viewing Events
This year, we’re also sponsoring a series of Livestream Viewing Events around the world, hosted by local Shopify Partners. These events are a great chance to meet other partners, discuss the challenges and opportunities of your region, and build your local network.
You can expect a livestream viewing party, networking, and some great discussions unique to your city’s event. A Shopify employee will attend every event, and you can expect panel discussions, AMAs, or presentations—all full of localized information to help grow your business.
Take a look at the four cities hosting Livestream Events this year, and be sure to register for a ticket if there’s one near you.
2. Get social
Whether you’re headed to Unite, watching from your home or office, or attending a Unite Livestream Event, our social networks will keep you in the loop throughout the entire conference.
Where to find us
We’ll be all over Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, sharing updates, experiences, and announcements on the ground in Toronto.
Our Twitter account will be your main source for constant updates about what’s going on at Unite. Like last year, we’ve also created a Twitter list of conference and Livestream Event attendees, so regardless of where you are or what you attend (or don’t), you can get a 360-degree view of what’s happening at the various Unite events around the world.
If you’re attending the conference or a Livestream Event, you can be added to the list in order to share your Unite experience with the world. Comment on this post or reply to the tweet below, and we’ll make sure to add you to the conversation.

We’ll also be sharing on the ground updates via Instagram, and product updates on our Facebook page. Follow along and don’t miss a single announcement or release from the conference.
Join the conversation
With all of our social channels, we want to hear from you, our community. Share your thoughts, insights, and ideas with the rest of the partners community, and take advantage of this unique opportunity to connect with partners just like you.
Heading to Unite
If you’re heading to Unite, now’s the time to start setting up meetings with other partners you’d like to connect with. Social media is a great way to do this. Last year, we saw lots of connections formed online that translated into awesome introductions at the conference.
The #ShopifyUnite hashtag is your key to discovering who’s headed to Unite, setting up your networking plans, and generally getting yourself ready for your trip to Toronto.
Download the app
If you’re attending Unite, be sure to download the Unite 2018 mobile app. The app is where you can register for networking events and workshops, build your schedule, and even connect with other partners at the conference.
Watching from home
If you’re not heading to the conference, you can still take part in the conversation. The #ShopifyUnite hashtag will be your gateway to hearing the announcements and launches, brainstorming with other partners, and sharing ideas for the future of commerce with the community.
Watch the livestream and join the conversation on social to get the whole experience of Unite 2018.
3. Show off your Unite participation with shareable graphics
We’ve put together some shareable graphics you can use on your social channels to tell people exactly what you’re up to during the conference.
Tweet them, use them as a profile photo, or post them on LinkedIn to let your own community know where you are during Unite, and to connect virtually with other Shopify Partners watching the conference (whether from home or in-person).
These are a great way to start a conversation and introduce yourself to others in the Shopify community—remember to use the #ShopifyUnite hashtag so your posts are searchable for other partners.
Join the conversation
Shopify Unite is all about bringing together the Shopify Partner community to educate, dream, and inspire. With partners from all around the world, there’s no better place to talk about entrepreneurship and our unique industry—and we want you to be a part of the conversation.
So whether you’re packing your bags to attend the conference, heading to a Livestream Viewing Event in your city, or joining us remotely, be sure to engage with us as we talk about the future of commerce together. 🚀
