In 1921, Meagher’s Pharmacy was opened and operated in Dublin by the Meagher’s family. In 2001, Oonagh O’Hagan, an ambitious pharmacist (who worked under the guidance of pharmacist Pierce Meagher), purchased the store from the family. Whilst the brand was well known and loved in the community, O’Hagan set about growing the business to nine physical stores. Today, Meagher’s pharmacy is at the forefront of its industry and embracing the evolving role of pharmacy in the digital world.
Meagher’s migrated to Shopify Plus in 2019 with the help of Shopify dedicated agency Milk Bottle Labs, which assisted Meagher’s with customizing its checkout, used Launchpad for automating sales, enabled pre-orders of out of stock products, and used plug-ins such as Klaviyo and ReCharge to scale and grow. This meant that Meagher’s was able to support its communities with services like online pharmacy consultations, country-wide prescription fulfillment, as well as an online doctor service.
After migrating, we immediately saw changes to the cart and the conversion rate. As a business we have built our brand on great customer experiences, and the speed of functionality, the checkout, and the fulfilment process are so much faster. Customers want the process to be just a few clicks. Shopify Plus allows us to do that. We are able to do more with less.
