The SIMKHAI brand, founded in 2010, provides ready-to-wear, luxury apparel for the modern woman. The brand’s namesake founder and Creative Director first shot to fame when he won the prestigious CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2015. Since then, the brand has established a loyal customer base across the world.
But SIMKHAI didn’t always have this expansive reach. In the early days, the brand focused primarily on traditional marketing tactics such as lookalike audiences in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) marketing, and dynamic targeting to reach prospects who were similar to existing customers. When it came time to grow, SIMKHAI knew they needed to reach new customers. With the cost of digital advertising increasing, they needed an expert to help them navigate the new marketing climate. Maison MRKT suggested the team use Shopify Audiences—a Shopify Plus-exclusive tool that generates an audience list of high-intent buyers for digital advertising platforms. With Shopify Audiences, SIMKHAI was able to create multiple audiences and deliver a marketing strategy that reached entirely new segments of customers. Moreover, the brand was able to use Shopify Audiences’ robust measurement capability to directly attribute the action their customers took to the ads they were serving. This reporting feature was especially useful in light of Apple iOS’s updated user privacy policy that greatly impacted the brand’s ad tracking capabilities.
