SEASE delivers a digital boutique driving a 51% increase in sales

Launched in 2018, SEASE is an Italian premium lifestyle brand known for its high-quality, functional apparel and commitment to sustainability, with stores and concessions all over the world – including in Europe, Asia, the US, and Canada. As the brand sought to provide a more cohesive and immersive online experience for its global customers, it turned to Shopify.

As a result of upgrading to Shopify, SEASE has seen:

  • 51% increase in gross sales YOY
  • 29% increase in website traffic
  • 3% increase in conversion rates

Challenge

The team knew they needed a website that could effectively convey SEASE’s values while nurturing a sense of community. However, before moving to Shopify, SEASE lacked the flexibility and customisation capabilities needed to embody the brand’s DNA at every touchpoint and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

With this in mind, the company set out to find a solution that could translate the brand’s ethos into a distinctive online visual identity, through precise UX and UI strategies. The goal was to ultimately build an immersive platform that would emulate the communal atmosphere customers experience in SEASE flagship stores.

In addition to reflecting the spirit of SEASE and its mission, it was crucial that the revamped website showcased the brand’s commitment to the environment. The team was looking to communicate exactly how SEASE products are engineered, covering the company’s sustainable protocols, use of ethically-sourced materials, and responsible supply chain.

Solution

With the help of luxury brands partner dAgency, SEASE moved over to Shopify, which provided a content-rich platform for conveying the brand’s values.

Thanks to the high level of customisation that Shopify offers, the team was able to create functional and user-friendly product pages which highlight the performance quality of the brand's outerwear in detail.

With the new website, customers also gained new helpful features like the ability to put together a wardrobe and wishlist of SEASE pieces that they can return to, or apply search filters that allow them to shop sustainable pieces. With Shopify Markets, payment and checkout experiences were also optimised to facilitate purchases in multiple currencies. The result is a seamless and streamlined experience that adapts to each customer’s needs.

Adding to the website’s editorial feel and keeping in line with the brand’s motto, “Feed Your Soul,” a Journal section was also added, which consists of brand ambassador stories about life on land and sea, linking back to featured products. In turn, the website has evolved beyond a storefront, acting as a showcase of SEASE’s values and a hub for its community.

Alongside these changes and with the help of dAgency, a new brand identity was developed – including a new logo, which was implemented across all digital touchpoints and brand communications, helping to drive a consistent experience for customers.

Results

By leveraging Shopify’s digital customisation capabilities to offer a seamless and immersive shopping journey, SEASE has seen its users spend more time on their site, resulting in an uplift in conversions of 3%.

With this, the brand’s gross sales saw a boost of 51% year-on-year, accompanied by a web traffic increase of 29%. The newly designed platform is not just a shopping site, but a digital manifestation of the SEASE universe designed to offer a user-friendly, immersive experience that captures the brand's ethos.
