Introduce your business and tell us your story: How did you decide on what to sell, and how did you source your products?
Since I was 10 years old I wanted to fragrance jewelry - the idea was like a whisper, a whisper that continued until I couldn't ignore it. I was nearly 40 before I launched online. We manufactured our Jewelstone, a patented product at the heart of Perfumed Jewelry. From there I engaged jewelry manufacturers via International Jewelry Industry events.
How did you earn your first sales? Which channels are now generating the most traffic and sales for you?
Via word of mouth, friends and family first, but that first online sale I will never forget. I didn't 'know' the person, I was humbled someone would have the faith to purchase. Social media marketing via Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Google are generating the most traffic and sales. I just started Reddit advertising as I'm an avid Redditor and I think it's always wise to focus on the channels you enjoy working with first.
Tell us about the back-end of your business. What tools and apps do you use to run your store? How do you handle shipping and fulfillment?
Currency converter, Abandonment Emails, Foursixty, Facebook Store plus many more I am sure to come. We established an international shipping office in KL, Malaysia that enables our orders to travel via DHL to Singapore each evening at 9 p.m. before being air freighted around the world. We deliver to most capital cities around the world within 48hrs.
What are your top recommendations for new store owners?
Don't stop, keep going and cherish every customer that you get to speak to or that orders. I love on everyone of my customers because they make my dream come true.
