There’s been a lot of hype in the developer community around GraphQL, a query language that represents a giant leap forward in how we consume APIs.
Originally, GraphQL was developed by Facebook as an alternative to REST,and allows apps to consume the exact data they need — no more, no less. With numerous benefits, including a self-describing type-system, GraphQL soon became a popular query language for many developers and platforms, including Shopify. We’ve even incorporated it into our Storefront API, the backbone of our Custom Storefronts SDKs.
So, if you’re new to GraphQL, and are curious about how it can be used when building on Shopify, we’ve got you covered.
In this free webinar hosted by Shopify Partners, Jordan Liddle — Developer Experience Architect at Shopify — will go over how to get started with GraphQL, and include several examples that you can refer to. Leveraging Shopify’s Storefront API, you’ll learn how to create GraphQL queries and build custom selling experiences.
To note: This webinar assumes that you have no knowledge of GraphQL, and applies to any Shopify Developer, new or experienced.
During this session, Jordan will cover:
- The basics of GraphQL.
- How Shopify uses GraphQL.
